This lady is in her 80's, living in a village along the banks of the Mekong River in northern Laos. She was making paper the day we visited using natural products found around the area. Hoi An Floods
I was in Hoi An in central Vietnam during the middle of November and the end of the rainy season was giving us a little to think about. The first night we were there the river started overflowing into the street. The next two days much of the city was under water. This is a wonderful city and I know they will bounce back because the Vietnamese are very resilient people, but for many it will be a struggle. This picture is of the locals and tourists alike standing in the middle of what is usually a road. Come Hell or High Water
This guy is going to get his motorbike through the streets no matter what. Yes, you are seeing this correctly!
Everything was being evacuated from the flooded areas. These 2 motorbikes made it to safety! The hotel one of our groups was staying in was flooded out so they had to put all their luggage on boats and get to higher ground. Luckily my hotel was above the flood zone and they had a generator so we were pretty well off compared to many others. Coffee or Tea--$1
