| Boat Racing
In between trips I had a couple of weeks off. I got pressured into going back to Siem Reap (all it took was the promise of a free t-shirt!) for the water festival and to be in the boat racing. My company sponsored a boat and I have to say we were not very good. We won 1 out of our 6 races. This is our team. At least we LOOK good!

Snacks anyone?
The race lasts over 2 days and becomes a large party for all the locals. They set up food stalls everywhere. This lady is selling rice mixed with beans.
Shrimp Pancakes?
These are some sort of shrimp pancakes. The shrimp are still in the shell. I am not sure what holds them together but they sell like hotcakes.
Fire
One of the cooking burners caught fire and scattered everyone until it burned itself out.
Pickled Tamarind and Rice
This is some sort of pickled tamarind and they are selling rice cooked in bamboo.
And where there is a party
Cambodians have a hard time picking up trash on the best of days. I was really surprised to see this boat out cleaning the river before the second day of festivities.
Sunken Ship
At least our boat did not sink during the races like this boat did. Our boat did sink during practice and I have to say the river is probably the dirtiest body of water I have ever been in!!
