| Long Train Ride Yields Great Views of the Acropoli
I took the train from Brasov, Romania to Athens. It was supposed to be a 30 hour ride (including a couple of stop overs). I guess we took longer to cross the borders (had to go through Bulgaria) than was anticipated and I missed one of my connections in Thessilaniki, Greece and arrived about 7 hours late. Nothing like a 37 hour train ride! At least I had the sleeping car to myself, but a very boring trip.
Once I arrived in Athens I found my hostel which has a great view of the Acropolis. There is a bar on the rooftop with a terrific view, especially at night.
Athens and the Ruins
I got up my first morning and became a tourist again. I went up to the Acropolis and wandered around there and a few other ruins. Absolutely amazing. I couldn't stop taking pictures. Here are a few that I took so everyone can get an idea of what I saw.
